Accurate Wireless Intrusion Protection & Monitoring
By monitoring all 802.11 activity and correlating events from across the wireless network, AirDefense provides a complete, enterprise view of everything happening in the airwaves.
Powered by the industry’s most advanced IDS engines, policy manager and correlation engines, AirDefense accurately detects and protects the network against all wireless threats and unauthorized devices.
AirDefense Enterprise is the industry’s most comprehensive, scalable wireless LAN security platform for protection, performance & policy compliance. As a key layer of security, AirDefense Enterprise complements wireless VPNs, encryption & authentication.
State-Analysis Engine
AirDefense incorporates stateful, 24x7, real-time tracking of of wireless LAN traffic. Stateful means that AirDefense provides continuous monitoring of the "state" of communication between all access points and stations transmitting on the airwaves. Stateful monitoring also allows the system to understand the full context of wireless LAN traffic.
Some WLAN attacks cannot be identified on the analysis of a single 802.11 packet. The monitoring system must be able to piece together a series of communication strings in order to properly identify the attacks against the WLAN and avoid false positives.
Network Correlation Engines
AirDefense correlates events across the network and its intrusion detection engines analyzing all activities with a complete, encompassing view of the airwaves. In most environments, more than one sensor may recognize the same access points and wireless devices. Threats and policy violations against these devices are correlated to provide accurate alerts and eliminate false positives.
Multi-Dimensional Intrusion Detection Engines
Traditional intrusion detection systems are plagued by false alarms because they rely on a single detection technology - attack signatures. AirDefense’s Multi-Dimensional Detection Engine integrates multiple detection technologies to recognize all known and unknown threats.
Security breaches are identified based on:
• Context-aware detection schemes
• Threat signature analysis
• Anomalous behavior
• Protocol assessment
• Policy compliance
With 23 patents (3 granted, 20 pending), AirDefense has the most advanced intellectual property portfolio.
