A Faster VPN
The VPN-1 Accelerator Card II improves VPN-1 Gateway performance by offloading processor intensive cryptographic operations from the host CPU of the gateway to a dedicated processor on the card itself. Developed jointly with Broadcom Corporation, the VPN-1 Accelerator Card II can extend the performance of a single VPN Gateway to support throughput of up to 150 Mbps. Even when VPN traffic is moderate, VPN-1 Gateway deployments benefit from the card by freeing resources for other security tasks.

Transparent Configuration and Management
The VPN-1 Accelerator Card II is a plug and play addition to a VPN-1 gateway. Software drivers are installed as part of the VPN-1 installation process, providing seamless integration with Check Point's VPN solution. The cards are administered directly by the gateway and can be installed on new or existing VPN-1 gateways with no reconfiguration. In addition, auto-detection of hardware failures prompts VPN-1 to bypass hardware encryption facilities to utilize software encryption capabilities of the gateway. This exceptional level of fault tolerance guarantees VPN up-time.
