Check Point Management
SmartCenter
Unified Security Management
In the face of increasingly sophisticated attacks, it takes multiple layers of security to be protected today—at the perimeter, inside the network, at all user endpoints. How can you manage the growing complexity? SmartCenter solutions give you control over configuring, managing, and monitoring even the most complex security deployments.
Based on Check Point's unified security architecture, SmartCenter solutions enable organizations to perform all aspects of security management via a single, unified console. This comprehensive approach delivers the industry's best security management and lowest total cost of ownership for network security deplopyments. SmartCenter solutions support Check Point offerings for perimeter, internal, Web and endpoint security solutions.

Management Add-Ons
Smartview Monitor
Easy, Unified Monitoring of Security and Network Performance
Managing network and security performance today can be a difficult juggling act. Security teams have to deal with many networks and VPN gateways, large numbers of users with different needs, and a fast-growing array of security threats that can quickly congest networks. SmartView Monitor shows the complete picture of network and security performance, enabling fast response to changes in traffic patterns or security activities.
SmartView Monitor centrally monitors Check Point and OPSEC devices, presenting a complete visual picture of changes to gateways, tunnels, remote users and security activities. This enables administrators to immediately identify changes in network traffic flow patterns that may signify malicious activity.
SmartMap
A Comprehensive Picture
SmartMap draws a comprehensive picture of an organization's security deployment including firewalls, VPNs, servers, networks, routers, and the relationships between those objects. Unlike some mapping tools, SmartMap does not need to search through the network to discover these objects. Instead it is able to draw the map by using information already captured as part of the security policy definition process. This provides security managers with visual feedback that shows their environment as they have defined it.
Provides A Searchable, Editable Map
The map drawn by SmartMap is not simply a static picture but allows security managers to search for objects and edit them in the map. For example, a search for a particular subnet will highlight the subnet in the diagram, drawing a box around it to call it out. This makes it easy to verify the subnet appears in the right location (e.g., part of the local network) and includes the right network nodes. Security managers can also select objects in the diagram and edit them, allowing changes to be made as soon as issues are identified.
Illustrates The Effect Of Rules
One of the most powerful features of SmartMap is its ability to illustrate the effect of security rules. Rules are diagrammed within SmartMap, with the Source of a rule (e.g., a subnet) coded in one color, the Destination (e.g., a server) coded in another color and the Action (e.g., encrypt) color-coded as well. Finally, arrows indicate the direction of traffic flow, making it is easy to see what the rule is securing. By seeing the effect of security rules on their deployment, security managers are able to ensure that the correct security policy is in place.
SmartUpdate
SmartUpdate extends your organization's ability to provide centralized policy management across enterprise-wide deployments. SmartUpdate can deliver automated software and license updates to hundreds of distributed security gateways from a single management console.
SmartUpdate ensures that security deployments are always up-to-date by enforcing the most current security software. This provides greater control and efficiency while dramatically decreasing maintenance costs of managing global security installations.
By turning time-consuming tasks that could otherwise be performed only by experts into simple point and click operations, SmartUpdate enables remote upgrade, installation and license management to be performed securely and easily. A system administrator can monitor and manage remote gateways from a central location, and decide whether there is a need for software upgrades, new installations or license modifications.
SmartPortal
With SmartPortal, the security team can extend browser-based SmartCenter access to outside groups such as technical support staff or auditors, yet maintain centralized control of policy enforcement. SmartPortal users can view security policies, status of all Check Point products and administrator activity.
This extended functionality facilitates team coordination in mitigating attacks or troubleshooting network and security issues. SmartPortal allows security administrators to extend, at their discretion, security policy access to the other groups, thereby increasing security visibility within the organization.
